Sami-Matti Trogen will contest the final two rounds of Nürburgring Langstrecke-Series (NLS).The first race will take place on the upcoming weekend, 22nd to 23rd of September. Trogen will partner the respected Luxembourger Dylan Pereira in #35 Walkenhorst Motorsport BMW M4 GT3.
NLS, known internationally as Nürburgring Endurance Series, takes place over a total of 9 rounds. Total of 104 teams have entered the 4-hour penultimate event, known formally as 55. ADAC Barbarossapreis.
While primarily focusing on the German GT4 Series, Trogen has also stayed connected with the more powerful GT3 machinery, both in the physical and virtual worlds. This spring, he completed a comprehensive tire testing program for Yokohama in Italy. Walkenhorst Motorsport is the long-standing partner of the Japanese company Yokohama and serves as the official works team in the NLS series.
Trogen's competitive GT3 return couldn’t happen at a better time, since Walkenhorst Motorsport is on an excellent run of form. Two weeks ago the team took a 1-2 victory at the previous NLS round, 12 hours of Nürburgring. Christan Krognes (N) /Jakub Giermaziak (POL) in car #34 won and Dylan Pereira/Jakub Giermaziak (POL) were second with the car #35.
Trogen now shares the #35 car with respected Pereira, 26, who is the reigning Porsche Supercup champion.
Sami-Matti Trogen:
"It's always cool to drive at the Nordschleife. I raced here just a few months ago, so I'm sure I'll quickly get up to speed. The BMW M4 GT3 is very familiar and, above all, fast. Good thing is also that I have worked a long time with our race engineer Gerd Kusstatscher”, Trogen says.
“I’ve never really met Dylan Pereira, my new teammate, before, but I'm confident that we'll make a great team. The most important thing is that we find the settings for the car that suit both of us”
"Over the years, I've found a very effective way to prepare for these races with a simulator," Trogen reveals.
"It's just important to keep in mind the fact that there are never easy races at the Nordschleife."
