Endurance Cup 2025 was opened in Alastaro on Sunday 4.5. The first race of the season has traditionally been preceded by a day shakedown and rattling the equipment and the “Rataleima” exam for the new drivers. This was already taken care of the previous week. The equipment worked flawlessly and all eight new drivers received the “Rataleima”, thus qualifying to race.
During the winter, the equipment was thoroughly serviced and the ECU problems that occasionally bothered us in the previous season were overcome. According to the more experienced drivers, the cars felt perkier than last year, so the mechanics have done their job excellently.
Sontek Racing opened the first race with three cars. The 713, 813 and 913 were already familiar from the previous season. The conditions were challenging as usual. The temperature was not many degrees above zero and the weather gos gave us sleet, hail, rain and even occasional sunshine. After a great qualifying, the six-hour race went from start to finish without any major challenges. After a bit of a bumb in the second corner, the front suspensions of car 913 had to be repaired, but the journey continued after the pit stop.
The chequered flag gave the cars position 3 (813), 4 (713) and 5 (913) in their class. You might think that the "arctic" temperature and the partially wet track would have been gentle on the tyres, but this time they wore out much faster than expected. For the next race, the chassis will probably be fine-tuned to make the tires work better. At the same time, we’ll also add "two clicks" more speed.
